Diriyah Company’s Group CEO, Jerry Inzerillo, has met with the CEOs of Alshaya Group and Starbucks to discuss a potential retail partnership between the entities, according to Diriyah Company.
Inzerillo has explored the opportunity to create exceptional experiences in Diriyah with Alshaya Group Executive Chairman, Mohammed Alshaya, CEO, John Hadden, and Starbucks Chairman and CEO, Brian Niccol.
“We are excited about the potential of welcoming one of the world’s most iconic brands to The City of Earth,” Inzerillo said.
He described the meeting as “an important step” in the company’s pursuit to partner with global brands and position Diriyah as one of the world’s greatest gathering places.
“We look forward to advancing our discussions with Starbucks and Alshaya Group to bring a unique retail experience to our visitors,” Inzerillo added.
Unparalleled Transformation
Saudi Arabia seeks to transform this mixed-use development into a world-class cultural and lifestyle destination.
Covering an area of 14 sq km, Diriyah boasts the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif, the birthplace of the Kingdom and the ancestral home of House Al Saud.
Therefore, this remarkable destination offers an extraordinary blend between 300 years of historic authenticity and modern design.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important country for Alshaya Group, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss bringing our most iconic brand to such a historically important site as Diriyah. With a flagship Starbucks store for the Middle East, our intention symbolizes our links to Saudi Arabia and support of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030,” Mohammed Alshaya stated.
Diriyah Square
To provide visitors with unparalleled experiences, the Diriyah masterplan features 566,000 sqm of lifestyle retail and F&B offerings with more than 1,000 retail outlets and dining concepts.
Interestingly, the area also features Diriyah Square, an outstanding lifestyle and retail precinct providing more than 186,000 sqm of leasable space with over 400 iconic retail brands and dining outlets.
“Together with our long-standing partner, Alshaya Group, we are exploring opening a one-of-a-kind flagship Starbucks in Diriyah,” Niccol said.
In this context, Niccol revealed Starbucks’ intention to create a unique destination that blends the best of local culture with the great coffee and human connection we are known for around the world.
Bujairi Terrace
Diriyah also boasts another promising attraction, Bujairi Terrace, adjacent to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif.
As an incredible dining and lifestyle hub, Bujairi Terrace has attracted more than 3 million visitors since its opening in 2022. For those who are looking for distinctive food experiences, the terrace offers a carefully curated selection of local, regional and international restaurants and boutique retail experiences.
“It is impressive to see the work the Diriyah Company is doing to build a world class destination,” Niccol said.
Continuous Efforts
Currently, Diriyah continues to capture internationally renowned brands, strengthening its position as a pioneering global destination for retail and lifestyle brands.
Recent additions include the Dolce&Gabbana boutique and café and the Maison Assouline’s flagship boutique, restaurant, as well as piano bar at Bujairi Terrace.
