Diriyah Company, in partnership with Saudi fashion label Ramzen, has unveiled a captivating collection of evening wear for both men and women. Inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Diriyah, the collection combines traditional elements with innovative modern touches, creating a truly unique fusion of old and new.
Diriyah Company, established by the Public Investment Fund in 2022, is tasked with overseeing the ambitious Diriyah Project which aims to transform Diriyah into a globally renowned destination for heritage, culture, and entertainment.
As part of its commitment to promoting local talent and fostering innovation, Diriyah Company has partnered with Ramzen, a prominent Saudi fashion label.
Ramzen’s Inspirations and Style
Ramzen, founded by designer Abdulrahman Al-Romaizan, draws inspiration from the historical significance of Diriyah. The collection pays homage to the founding of the first Saudi State by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727. The designs reflect the architectural and decorative style characteristic of the Najdi region, with a focus on traditional craftsmanship and intricate details.
Blend of Tradition and Modernity
The collection showcases a range of evening wear options for men and women. Each piece is meticulously crafted, combining traditional fabrics, such as silk and velvet, with contemporary silhouettes and cuts. The designs feature intricate embroidery and embellishments, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication.
Moreover, the collaboration between Diriyah and Ramzen underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing presence in the global fashion industry. By promoting local talent and encouraging innovation, the partnership aims to position Saudi Arabia as a fashion hub on the international stage. The collection not only showcases the creativity and craftsmanship of Saudi designers but also highlights the country’s rich cultural heritage.
Diriyah: Cultural and Historical Gem
Diriyah, located in the heart of Saudi Arabia, holds immense historical and cultural significance. In 2010, the At-Turaif Historical District was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The district’s citadel, characterized by its unique Najdi architectural style, serves as a testament to the rich heritage of the Arabian Peninsula.
Furthermore, to preserve and promote Diriyah’s historical and architectural heritage, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority was established by a royal decree in 2017. Led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the authority oversees the Diriyah Project which spans 194 square kilometers and includes various educational, cultural, and artistic institutions. The partnership between Diriyah Company and Ramzen is not just about fashion, it represents a shared commitment to promoting local talent and fostering innovation.
