Cybersecurity Event Black Hat Brings down Its Curtains in Riyadh
Black Hat, the most attended cybersecurity event, brought down its curtains in Riyadh.
40000 visitors, 350 brands, and professional competitors from more than 90 countries gathered at the renowned event to share technologies and expertise in the field of cybersecurity.

The second edition of the cybersecurity event Black Hat commenced in Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center. The attendees included experts, speakers, and investors.
Keynote Address by Faisal Al-Khamisi
Faisal Al-Khamissi, head of the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones emphasized the event’s significance. He praised Crown Prince’s role in promoting the technology sector through Vision 2030.
This edition is the largest, gathering global information security experts for over 600 hours of content over the following three days.
The previous edition’s success was highlighted with an attendance of 30,000 visitors. This is the biggest number of attendees in the field of cyber security on a global level.
Record-Breaking Aspirations & Global Participation
This edition aims to surpass its record with over 60,000 registrants and more than 250 workshops.
Moreover, it featured 350 leading companies from 70 countries. Prizes exceeded SAR 1,000,000 for amateurs and professionals.
Annabel Mander’s Acknowledgement
Annabelle Mander, Vice President of Alliance, commended the Saudi Federation for its effective contributions to the success of Black Hat Middle East and Africa.
New Strategic Partnership
Haboob (owned by the Saudi Federation) and Google Cloud’s Mandiant announced a strategic partnership. They introduced Chronicle Cyber Shield in Saudi Arabia, enhancing cybersecurity services in the government sector.
First-Day Sessions
The first day covered topics like cyber risks, software’s role in modern warfare, transportation hacking, and AI’s in applications’ development.
Cyber Seed Competition
During Black Hat proceedings, the Cyber Seed contest was launched for startups. The contest has four prizes, namely: innovative ideator, shining seedling, established excellence and Saudi superstar.
Furthermore, there were challenges including capture the flag, escape room activities, smart city and chip hacking with over 1,000,000 Riyals in prizes.
Continuous Engagement
The Black Hat event continued until November 16, featuring exhibitors like IBM, Cisco, Huawei, and many more.
