Third Edition of Global Cybersecurity Forum Concludes Today

The third edition of the Global Cybersecurity Forum, which was held under the slogan “Shaping Common Priorities in Cyberspace” came to an end this evening.

More than 150 high-level international speakers, and participants came from 120 countries around the world.

Over two days, the forum discussed the most prominent strategic trends and vital issues with an international dimension in cyberspace.

Partners from around the world discussed prospects for cooperating, unifying efforts and maximizing the exploitation of promising opportunities in the sector.

The forum reviewed 35 discussion sessions in which an elite group of decision-makers, CEOs, and senior officials from the public and private sectors participated.

The forum addressed a wide range of cybersecurity topics related to the geopolitical, economic, and behavioral aspects that fall within the priorities of the public sector, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and think tanks.

Forum Outcomes

During the forum, the Center of Excellence for Operational System was launched. It is an initiative led by Saudi Aramco in partnership with a number of private sector entities with aiming to carry out research find solutions that would contribute to securing supply chains in the energy sector.

The forum also witnessed the launch of specialized knowledge groups which aim to prepare and publish studies, research and reports in cooperation with leading international companies and organizations within the scope of each group’s work, in addition to stimulating the exchange of visions between stakeholders at the international level.

Signing of Memorandums of Understanding

During the forum, 4 memorandums of understanding were signed between the National Cybersecurity Authority and a number of regional and international bodies for cooperation in the areas of cybersecurity, which included the National Cybersecurity Agency in the State of Qatar, the National Directorate of Cybersecurity in Romania, the Spanish National Institute for Cybersecurity, and the National Center for Cybersecurity. The International Cybersecurity Forum represents a platform that unites international efforts to bring about positive change in the field by opening areas of dialogue between leaders and decision-makers from governmental and non-governmental institutions, the private sector, and think tanks and research centers.

The Forum supports international activity towards safer, more stable, and more comprehensive cybersecurity in a way that serves economies and societies around the world.
