Saudi Ministry of Culture has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) to boost the cultural scene of the Saudi capital, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Signed on the sidelines of the Cultural Investment Conference, the deal seeks to establish several strategic cultural and artistic projects in Riyadh.
The MoU encompasses several key areas, including aligning the national culture strategy with Riyadh’s strategic objectives to advance national goals and promoting joint strategic plans and studies to enhance greater integration between the cultural and development sectors in the city.
It also aims to foster cooperation in investment to drive the growth of the cultural sector, direct investments toward projects that enrich the cultural landscape and elevate the visitor experience, while drawing contributions from both the public and private sectors.
Overall, the agreement focuses on attracting international creative talent and companies by developing appealing environments such as Riyadh’s Creative District, empower local talent, as well as strengthen the value of existing partnerships.
Moreover, the collaboration also involves elevating cultural content and events, as well as launching programs and initiatives designed to enrich the cultural experience for both residents and visitors of Riyadh.
Notably, this deal mirrors an integrated approach among public sector institutions to advance the national objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. It also embodies the goals of the National Culture Strategy, which aims to position culture as a way of life and a driver of economic growth and strengthen the Kingdom’s cultural presence on the global stage.
