On National Day, historian Fayez Al-Harbi explained the importance of the diversity witnessed by the Kingdom environmentally and socially, which has merged into a wonderful unity, as it contains 60 dialects.
Al-Harbi, during an appearance on the “Sabah Studio” program with Athir Al-Mubaraki on “Al Arabiya FM” for the Kingdom’s 94th National Day, noted that each region in the Kingdom has its own unique culture and characteristics.
He also added that the Riyadh and Najd regions represent authentic Arab history and are distinguished by the classical Arabic language and were the home of great poets. In recent decades, they have also been known for their own traditions, such as the “Kabsa” dish, which is prepared in a unique Saudi cooking skill.
Furthermore, Al-Harbi added that the south is unique in its customs, clothing, and food. It is famous for dishes like mandi, haneez, masoob, asida, matbak, and freekeh. He noted that one can identify a citizen’s region in the Kingdom by their dialect.
