Saudi Arabia Secures 1st Place Regionally, 14th Globally in Global AI Index

Saudi Arabia has made unprecedented strides in Artificial Intelligence sector, securing 14th place globally and the top position in the Arab world in the Global AI Index for 2024, issued by Tortoise Intelligence, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Kingdom also secured the top spot in the government strategy standard for artificial intelligence among 83 countries around the world.

According to the Index, Saudi Arabia won the 7^th place globally in the standard of trade in artificial intelligence, a crucial step emphasizing the Kingdom’s commitment to adopting and developing AI and its cutting-edge technologies.

These achievements highlight Saudi Arabia’s remarkable leaps to pioneer AI technologies and foster AI national capabilities.

The Global AI Index, a comprehensive assessment of AI capabilities across 83 countries, evaluates performance based on 122 indicators grouped into three pillars: Implementation, Innovation, and Investment. These pillars are further divided into seven sub-pillars: Talent, Infrastructure, Operating Environment, Research, Development, Government Strategy, and Commercial Ecosystem.

This new success stands as a testament to the unparalleled support by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).

Thanks to this unwavering support, SDAIA has been accelerating AI adoption and positioning the Kingdom’s economy as one of the most thriving economies based on data and AI around the world.

The Kingdom has recently hosted the 3^rd edition of the Global AI Summit (GAIN), which took place in Riyadh, from September 10-12, with the participation of more than 450 speakers.

GAIN Summit highlighted the attendance of artificial intelligence experts, specialists, and decision-makers from 100 countries around the world.
