Global AI Summit Day 2: Governance, Transformation, and the Path to AGI

On the second day of the Global AI Summit’s third edition, 11 sessions and workshops took place. Speakers and participants from 100 countries discussed various topics, including responsible AI governance, industrial digital transformation, a roundtable on stakeholder representation and decision-making, and ChatGLM’s progress toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

Global AI Summit, UNESCO

In the presence of international representatives, the Kingdom’s government, UNESCO, and the ICAIRE Center signed a tripartite agreement designating ICAIRE as a Category 2 Center (C2C) under UNESCO’s auspices in Riyadh. This highlights the Kingdom’s global standing and influence. The event also marked the launch of the “Riyadh AI Charter in the Islamic World” by ICESCO and SDAIA, underscoring a commitment to human values.

SDAIA released guidelines to combat deepfakes with AI tools, aiming to raise awareness, clarify best practices, and promote responsible use.

THAK.AI’ Platform

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) launched the ‘THAK.AI’ platform, the world’s first for sharing AI data and content. Additionally, it aims to build a global community of experts and enthusiasts to share scientific findings and benefits. On the second day, SDAIA signed agreements with local and international partners, including the Ministry of National Guard for training in data and AI, and the National Center for Waste Management to develop tech-driven, sustainable waste solutions.

SDAIA and ST Engineering signed an agreement to collaborate on smart traffic solutions, traffic safety, and quality of life improvements. Additionally, SDAIA signed a memorandum of understanding with the Shared Services Program to analyze government cloud entities, assess their technical levels, connect them to data centers. Furthermore, it provide regulatory-compliant services.

SDAIA and Pearson have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost national capabilities in AI and digital fields within the Kingdom. Moreover, this collaboration aims to strengthen the national workforce and prepare it for an AI-driven future.
