The Ministry of Tourism reported that the total spending by international tourists visiting the Kingdom in the past year, 2023, exceeded (141 billion Riyals). Spending on hospitality facilities was the highest among expenditure categories, totaling (45 billion Riyals), according to the annual tourism statistics report for 2023 issued by the Ministry.
According to the annual report, the ministry stated that spending by incoming tourists on shopping during the past year exceeded 25.5 billion riyals, while spending on transportation and mobility amounted to approximately 21.5 billion riyals. Spending on food and beverages was around 19.4 billion riyals, and expenditure on other items surpassed 25.5 billion riyals. Additionally, spending by incoming tourists on entertainment exceeded 4.0 billion riyals.
It is noted that the number of tourists arriving in the Kingdom from abroad during the year 2023 exceeded 27 million tourists, with their total spending amounting to more than 141 billion riyals. Additionally, the number of domestic and incoming tourists during the past year surpassed 109 million tourists.
