The Aramco Team Series, a renowned golf tournament presented by the Saudi Investment Fund (PIF), is coming to Shenzhen, China, from October 4-6, 2024.
The world-class golf championship will be held at Mission Hills Resort Shenzhen, with the participation of elite female golf players.
Aramco Team Series 2024
The prestigious tournament is part of a series of global women’s golf championships organized by Golf Saudi, in collaboration with the Ladies European Tour (LET), to empower women’s golf at a global scale, especially in Asia.
The championship also aligns with Golf Saudi’s efforts to expand Aramco Team Series into mainland China for the first time, a major step towards enhancing women’s golf in this region.
Unique Format
The Aramco Team Series feature individual and team competitions. 28 teams of 4 professionals and 1 amateur will compete in the heated golf tournament.
This distinctive and innovative format of the Aramco Team Series provides a unique opportunity for amateurs to compete alongside professional golfers.
World-class Golfers
Furthermore, an elite of professional female golf stars will take part in the Aramco Team Series, most notably the World No. 12 Celine Boutier.
In her first debut at the Aramco Team Series, Boutier seeks her first win of the 2024 season, after her recent Solheim Cup defeat with Team Europe and T18 finish at the Olympic Games in Paris.
The French golfer holds six professional wins, including a major victory at the 2023 Amundi Evian Championship. She is eager to claim victory at her first participation in the event.
“Competing in Shenzhen, surrounded by such strong talent in this innovative format, is an exciting challenge,” Boutier said. “It’s also great to be part of an event with a focus on advancing the women’s game, creating more opportunities for female athletes to compete on a global stage,” she added.
Heated Golf Competition
In addition to Boutier, the Aramco Team Series feature world-class female golfers, including Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) stars Xiyu Lin, Ruoning Yin, Alison Lee, and Angel Yin.
Xiyu Lin won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics and the Aramco Team Series in Hong Kong in 2023, while Ruoning Yin is the world’s No. 4 and the winner of the 2023 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
Meanwhile, Golf Saudi Ambassadors and Aramco Team Series champions will participate in the tournament. They include Alison Lee, a two-time Aramco Team Series winner; and Angel Yin, an LPGA Tour champion.
The list also features Anne Van Dam, a major championship contender; Bronte Law and Olivia Cowan, both Aramco Team Series winners; and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, the only player who successfully defended her Aramco Team Series title.
Generous Prize
The flagship tournament offers a $1 million prize fund, including $500,000 for team competitions, and $500,000 for individual competitions.
The Aramco Team Series presented by PIF consists of five events on the LET held each year at various cities around the world. This year, Tampa, Korea, and London hosted the previous events, while the final stage will take place in Riyadh, from October 31 to November 2, 2024.
