Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee Arrives in Oslo

Today, Friday, the delegation of the Ministerial Committee assigned from the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit on Gaza arrived in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, on its tenth stop, reported Ajel. It is noteworthy that the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee made many diplomatic trips to a number of world capitals with the aim of taking serious steps to cease the fire in Gaza and secure relief corridors to deliver aid into the Strip.

The ministerial committee assigned by the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit includes Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Al Thani, Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Al Safadi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, as well as Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Riyad Al-Maliki.

Moreover, other important figures in the ministerial committee include Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan , Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Malaysian Foreign Minister Zambary Abd Kadir, and the representative of the Arab group in the Security Council, UAE Minister of State Khalifa Al-Marar.

In a recent high-stakes meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee expressed strong objections to US use of veto.

The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee’s Stance

Moreover, the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee voiced concerns that the US’s unilateral actions could destabilize regional security. They also emphasized the need for more inclusive and democratic processes in international decision-making bodies.

On the other hand, US Secretary of State Blinken defended the use of the veto as a necessary tool for protecting national interests. He emphasized that the US remains committed to working collaboratively with international partners. However, it will not hesitate to use its veto power when necessary.
