Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef has met in Rome with Italian Minister of Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Fratin to foster mining and energy cooperation.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the meeting focused on boosting bilateral cooperation in mining, clean energy solutions, and sustainability.
Both ministers also discussed how to capture Italian companies and businessmen to invest in Saudi Arabia’s mining sector.
In this context, Alkhorayef seized the opportunity and explained that the Kingdom is full of promising opportunities in all mining stages including exploration, exploitation, and processing.
These opportunities are based on two facts; the Kingdom owns $2.5 trillion untapped mineral wealth and 80 years of geological data accessible to investors through a digital platform.
Moreover, the Minister underscored the Kingdom’s welcome to capture joint investment projects in renewable energy and supply chains integration.
He urged all Italian investors in Saudi Arabia to expand their projects and strengthen their engagement in the Saudi markets.
In conclusion, Alkhorayef warmly invited Fratin to the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh, in early 2025, with an anticipation of significant Italian participation.
The meeting is part of Alkhorayef’s official visit to bolster the Saudi-Italian Industrial and mining cooperation in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
