Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, embarked today on an official visit to the United States to boost industrial and mining cooperation, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The visit primarily aims to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries and attract outstanding investment opportunities in promising industrial sectors, most notably aviation and space.
Visit’s Schedule
Set to run until September 28, the visit includes various states such as New York, California and Nevada, during which the Minister will meet with government officials and CEOs of prominent American companies.
Alkhorayef will hold meetings with several industry leaders to discuss possible opportunities for bringing knowledge, innovation and advanced manufacturing technologies to strategic industrial sectors in the Kingdom.
New York
At the beginning of his visit to New York, Alkhorayef will meet Ministers of Industry and leaders of industrial transformation around the world.
Such meetings are part of a significant event organized by the Kingdom in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
Moreover, the Minister will tour the New York Stock Exchange, the largest stock exchange in America, and Columbia University, the fifth oldest university in America, and hold talks with faculty members and students.
Nevada
Alkhorayef is also set to visit Las Vegas, Nevada, and participate in the “Linexpo” exhibition, the largest mining exhibition in the world.
Organized by the National Mining Association (NMA), the exhibition represents a valuable platform to delve into the latest advanced technologies used in mining operations.
California
Al-Khorayef will participate in a roundtable meeting with major American companies during his visit to Los Angeles, California.
The Minister will shed light on the most prominent promising industrial sectors in the national industrial strategy and the most promising opportunities and capabilities.
Furthermore, he will illustrate the Kingdom’s incentives and efforts to facilitate all procedures for foreign investors.
Space and Aerospace Industries
In order to discover the latest cutting-edge technologies in the aerospace industry, Al-Khorayef will visit Jet Zero, a California-based aerospace company, and will explore cooperation opportunities with Mark Page, the company’s Co-Founder and chief technology officer.
Meanwhile, the Minister will also visit SpaceX, a space exploration technology company, and hold meetings with Brett Johnson, the company’s Chief Financial Officer.
