Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority, announced that the crowd capacity of Al Hilal Club’s “Kingdom Arena” stadium has been increased to 26,700 seats.
Al-Sheikh stated through his account on the “X” social media platform that the stadium’s capacity of 18,800 seats will reach 26,700 seats.
He said : “We will use a new technology for the first time in stadium. This technology involves columns planted under the field floor that can emerge to cover the floor with aluminum panels. Moreover, we equipped these panels with agricultural lighting, nutrition, and ventilation technology. We also reduced the rotation time of the facility from 10 days to 48 hours to minimize conflicts. we are in the process of patenting it with international football associations.”
Al-Sheikh added that the lighting, dressing rooms, conference room, doping testing room, medical clinics, and public lounges will be developed. Furthermore, Riyadh Season will pay for half of the runway’s cost in exchange for naming it the Riyadh Season Runway for three years.
Furthermore, the stadium, which entered the Guinness Book of World Records, hosted the Riyadh Season Cup. Several clubs like Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, and Inter Miami participated in the tournament. Al-Hilal won the event after defeating Inter Miami and Al-Nassr. The stadium also hosted Al-Hilal’s matches for the rest of the season.
The Kingdom Arena stadium entered the world encyclopedia with two records as the largest indoor football stadium in the world in terms of area. It’s also the largest indoor stadium in terms of crowd capacity.
