The first Al-Kharj Festival of Saudi Dates and Coffee has witnessed great sales that surpassed SR10 million ($2.6 million), the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The festival has captured the attention of various visitors as the event provided them with special offers notably as the holy month of Ramadan is approaching.
Furthermore, visitors enjoyed access to specialized markets with daily promotions.
Interestingly, the 10-day festival boasted 30 companies and shops displaying over 26 varieties of dates and related products.
At the same time, 20 coffee shops were selling 2 to 3 tonnes of the brew per day. Meanwhile, the sales were increasing on weekends to approximately 5 tonnes.
Supported by multiple government departments as well as institutions within the governorate, the festival shed light on the significance of coffee and dates in the Kingdom’s culture.
Commenting on the festival, Abdulaziz Al-Sharif, the Chairman of the festival’s organizing committee, stated that the occasion offered a valuable opportunity for small- and medium-sized enterprises and specialized companies to have a close connection with a wider audience and display their products.
