Al Hilal defeated Al Nassr 5-4 on penalty kicks to claim the King’s Cup 2024 on Friday.
By the end of the first half, Al-Hilal was one goal ahead of Al-Nasr.
Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the lead goal for Al Hilal in the seventh minute of the match. However, Al-Nasr’s Ayman Yahya scored the first goal during the 88th minute.
At the start of the second half of the King’s Cup final, Ronaldo fired a double kick from inside the penalty area after a cross, but it hit the post, which deprived the Portuguese a global goal.
Later in the the match, the referee issued the red card for Al-Nasr goalkeeper David Ospina and Ali Al-Bulayhi. Meanwhile, Koulibaly was sent off after hitting the Al-Nasr goalkeeper who had the ball in his hand.
The two teams have previously met in 14 final matches in all tournaments. In all these encounters, Al-Nasr won 8 times, compared to 6 for Al-Hilal.
Both teams also faced off in 173 meetings in various tournaments and competitions. Al-Hilal was able to win 71 matches, while Al-Nasr won 54 matches. The two Saudi clubs tied in 48 matches, and Al-Hilal was able to score 248 goals throughout these confrontations against Al-Nasr, while the latter was able to score 202 goals against Al-Hilal.
Today’s game was played at King Abdullah Al Jawhara International Stadium in Jeddah with public seats of 65,000. Built in 2014, the stadium also includes rooms for meetings and conferences, reception hall and other food. It also encompasses a mosque, the Academy of Sports, Athletic hospital advanced medical and hospitality complex for athletes as well as an electric train station.
