
On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, presented the King’s Cup to Al-Hilal FC after it claimed victory in the 2023-2024 season finals, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The final showdown of the King’s Cup was held Friday evening at King Abdullah Al Jawhara International Stadium in Jeddah, featuring Al Hilal FC and Al Nassr FC.
Upon his arrival, the Crown Prince was greeted by Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz; Deputy Minister of Sport Badr Al-Qadi; Assistant Minister of Sport Abdul-Ilah Al-Dallak; and Saudi Arabian Football Federation President Yasser Almisehal.
After the arrival ceremony, the Royal Anthem was played.
Following a heated match, Al-Hilal FC emerged winner after beating Al-Nassr FC on penalties with a score of 5-4.
After the match, the Crown Prince shook hands with the match officials, referees and players of both teams. Several princes, ministers and officials attended the King’s Cup final match.
The two teams have previously encountered in 14 final matches in all tournaments. In all these matches, Al-Nassr FC won 8 times, while Al-Hilal FC claimed victory 6 times.
Both teams also faced off in 173 meetings in various tournaments and competitions. Al-Hilal FC emerged victorious in 71 matches, compared to 54 for Al-Nassr FC. The two Saudi clubs tied in 48 matches.
Throughout all these encounters, Al-Hilal FC was able to score 248 goals against Al-Nassr, while the latter scored 202 goals against Al-Hilal FC.
