Saudi Arabia has unveiled a series of strategic initiatives aimed at addressing global challenges in computing, data, and algorithms, according to Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha. Backed by the support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, these efforts are designed to harness artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity.

Alswaha made the announcement during his speech at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) 160th anniversary celebration in Geneva, attended by global leaders, policymakers, and technology experts.
He emphasized that the world is entering a pivotal phase marked by rapid AI advancement. With significant disparities in access to computing power, data, and algorithms, Alswaha called for urgent, collective global action.

Reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to digital transformation, he underscored Saudi Arabia’s focus on building international partnerships to bridge the digital divide and promote inclusive AI development. Alswaha stressed the importance of collaboration in shaping a more equitable and technologically empowered future, warning that failure to act could deepen divides between nations and societies.
