Cat lovers are in for an unprecedented event this October, as they will get to know the beauty queen or king of cats in a unique cat show.
For the first time, Saudi Arabia will host the International Cat Show on October 28-30, 2024 in Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, as part of the Saudi Pet and Vet Expo 2024.
The Cat Show is an international competition organized by the World Cat Federation (WCF) in cooperation with the Middle East Cat Society (MECATS).

The event aims to act as a platform to educate cat owners about proper breeding practices that maintain pedigree purity. It also aims to promote love for animals and encourage people to take care of them, in addition to increasing community awareness of how to deal with pets. Moreover, it offers a space for people to express their love for cats.
The Cat Show competition involves 6 categories:
- Long-haired
- Short-haired / Semi-long-haired
- Siam/OHK (Orient Short Hair)
- Persian and Exotic House Cat
- Junior (6 to 10 months)
- Kittens (3 to 6 months)
All types of cats aged between 3 months and 12 years are eligible to register in the Cat Show. Also, all cats must be in good health in order to take part in the competition.
The Cat Show judges include the President of the World Cat Federation (WCF), Mrs. Anneliese Hackman, in addition to several international judges.

Each breed has specific standards that clearly identify beauty. The evaluation process takes into account how closely the cat matches the ideal standard for its breed, in addition to the care it has received and its temperament.
The winners of the competition will receive certificates, trophies, and ribbons from the WCF. Furthermore, all participants will get gift boxes containing pet supplies worth SAR 1000.
