Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Economy and Planning has organized an event on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Themed “Unlocking Innovation for Sustainable Development through Platforms and Partnerships,” the event highlighted the pivotal role of e-platforms in bringing together various stakeholders.
These platforms represent a great opportunity for governments, businesses, civil society, and academic institutions, to drive impactful and inclusive sustainable development.

The occasion also involved several panel discussions, interactive Q&A sessions, and case study presentations with the participation of high-level representatives from the public sector, international organizations, the private sector, and academia.
The discussions marked the participation of various speakers include General Supervisor for Assistant Deputyship for Sustainable Development at the Ministry of Economy and Planning Hajar Algosair; Chief Scientist at WAVE Professor Carlos Duarte, along with Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation Dima Al-Khatib.

Moreover, the panels also included Head of UpLink and Executive Committee Member of the World Economic Forum John Dutton and Senior Partner and Leader of the International Development Sector at Deloitte Julius Van Heel.
They stressed the significance of continuous cooperation and innovation to fully fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals.
They also called on the international community to cooperate and address these challenges, shedding light on the innovation’s role in overcoming these obstacles and creating a more inclusive and sustainable future.
