The Farasan Islands attracted many visitors and tourists this summer with their diverse sites, natural wealth, rich heritage, sandy beaches, and marine activities.

The ancient village of “Al-Qassar” is now a tourist destination for visitors to Farasan and heritage enthusiasts. It features ancient houses, heritage exhibits, and a traditional café, where visitors can enjoy views of palm trees surrounding the village. They also learn about “Al-Asif,” a significant cultural and social tradition in the Farasan Islands.
The name “Al-Asif” comes from the intensely hot northwesterly winds that blow over the island in summer. This led locals to head to “Al-Qassar” for its many wells with fresh water and fruit-bearing palm trees. Moreover, they would harvest dates and enjoy the shade and moderate climate for over three months, creating a tradition passed down through generations.

Furthermore, visitors to Farasan Island should not miss the chance to visit its archaeological sites, such as the historic “Al-Rifai House,” the ancient “Al-Najdi Mosque,” the “Roman Fortress,” and other sites that have made a unique tourist attraction.
