Saudi Arabia has warmly welcomed today a Hajj pilgrims’ batch from Turkey, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah has received a Turkish batch of pilgrims coming from Ankara Esenboğa Airport.
The group is part of the pilgrims who will perform the fifth pillar of Islam through Makkah Route Initiative, an integral part of a comprehensive program aiming at facilitating Hajj procedures for the pilgrims.

According to the initiative, pilgrims can complete all necessary procedures, including electronic visa issuance, biometric data collection, and airport departure checks in their home country.
Furthermore, it provides the pilgrims with highest level of efficiency and comfort in their pilgrimage to ensure them a smooth and seamless spiritual journey.

Upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, pilgrims and their luggage are directly transported to their accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, without any need to stand in long lines and waste time at the airport. They only spend a few minutes at the Saudi immigration counters.
The initiative has served 617,756 pilgrims, since its launch in 2017, in collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Information, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and the Guests of God Service Program.
