The growing pursuit of hobbies across Saudi Arabia is signaling a remarkable shift in the way communities connect, participate, and spend their leisure time.
A New Era for Saudi Hobbies
Driving this shift is the National Portal for Hobbies, Hawi, an ambitious initiative of the Quality of Life Program that continues to build momentum across the Kingdom.
The platform has registered 111,167 members, 3,533 hobby clubs, and 4,123 events, representing 233 different hobbies.
Such growth stands as a testament to the growing community of hobbyists across the Kingdom, as personal interests increasingly take shape within organized groups and activities.
By placing quality of life and community participation among the pillars of the Kingdom’s transformation agenda, Hawi perfectly mirrors the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
A Platform Built Around Passion
Hawi’s role is not simply bringing hobbyists together. The platform provides a more organized environment for the Kingdom’s expanding hobbies sector, allowing individuals to create and join clubs, arrange activities and events, access suitable spaces and facilities, and find communities centered around shared interests.
Parallelly, Hawi is expanding its presence through partnerships with governmental, private, and non-profit entities. These collaborations further nurture community participation while helping diversify the quality-of-life opportunities available across Saudi Arabia.

However, the growth of Hawi cannot be measured solely by the number of clubs or members it has brought together. For Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Bakr, CEO of the Quality of Life Program Center, the real value lies in transforming individual hobbies into communities marked by shared passions. Such communities offer vital space to connect, learn, participate, and create initiatives.
How Hawi Is Shaping the Future of Hobbies
Since its launch in October 2022, Hawi has rapidly emerged as a valuable resource for hobbyists across Saudi Arabia’s regions and cities. The platform provides a supportive framework that enables individuals to turn their interests into organized clubs centered around the pastimes they enjoy.

Looking ahead, Hawi is set to diversify its network of hobby clubs and activities across cities and governorates throughout the Kingdom. As part of this advancement, the next phase will also concentrate on the sustainability and quality of club activities while offering more diverse experiences for members, further supporting the development of active and engaged communities.
