
In its Global Education Monitoring Report 2026, UNESCO highlighted the success of the blended learning approach adopted by Saudi Electronic University, noting its strong impact on widening access to higher education and advancing educational equity.
The report pointed out that e-learning and blended learning have been key solutions in reducing barriers to female participation in higher education across the Kingdom. At Saudi Electronic University, female enrollment nearly doubled between 2018 and 2024, underscoring the effectiveness of this approach.

UNESCO also recognized the university as a leading example in the implementation of blended learning, emphasizing its role in driving meaningful change within the Kingdom’s education system.
Furthermore, the report identified online and blended learning as major contributors to the significant progress seen in higher education nationwide.
