Seventeen Yemeni political parties and groups have commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its firm position on the southern issue, describing it as a just cause with deep historical and social roots.
The parties welcomed a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs calling for the restoration of stability in the governorates of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra.
Moreover, the statement emphasized the redeployment of Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces to their previous barracks outside the two governorates and called for their immediate withdrawal through organized procedures under the supervision of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy.
In a joint statement reported by the Yemen News Agency (SABA), the parties said the Saudi position “represents the essence of the required approach at this stage,” describing it as the correct starting point to contain escalation and prevent the imposition of new realities on the ground by force.
The statement reaffirmed support for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council to de-escalate the situation and urged the Southern Transitional Council to respond promptly, placing reason and wisdom above all else.
