1560 mosques in Mecca reopen their doors to worshipers on Sunday

1560 mosques are reopening in Makkah to receive worshipers, starting at Fajer prayers next Sunday, after a 90-day break, due to precautionary measures and preventive against the outbreak of the new Corona virus.
At a time when the Ministry’s branch of Islamic affairs in Makkah region has prepared all mosques , provided that the full precautionary measures are applied, such as a single-use rug, the application of spacing between each row, as well as leaving the distances between the worshipers.
In addition, a number of volunteers have participated in the “Preparing Mosques” initiative in supporting the efforts of the concerned authorities to equip mosques for worshipers in the neighborhoods of Makkah. That is according to the precautionary procedures and instructions set by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance and the Ministry of Health.
The Executive Director of the Aziziyah neighborhood center in Makkah Ibrahim Melli said that the initiative aims to prepare the mosques of Mecca to receive worshipers and put spacing stickers, as well as contribute to educating worshipers about safety controls, during the return to praying in the mosques.
On the other hand, the services agency, has implemented work on the application of precautionary measures represented in the development of posters with social spacing between worshipers and the lifting of the Qur’an .That within the framework of an integrated program within the preventive measures and precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs had started on the eighth of the month of Shawwal this month to open mosques and mosques in the regions and governorates of Saudi Arabia except the city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, which decided to start receiving worshipers on the twenty-ninth of Shawwal this month, which falls next Sunday, unless there is any change.
