Zakat and Tax Offers New Benefits to Importers, Exporters
The “Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority” clarified that, in collaboration with 14 government entities, it has worked on developing the “Authorized Saudi Economic Operator Program” by introducing new benefits and incentives for importers and exporters enrolled in the program. This initiative aims to enhance the partnership between government entities and commercial enterprises operating in the import and export sectors, bolster the security of the global supply chain, and support these enterprises by granting them various exclusive program benefits.
Saudi Authorized Economic Operator Program
The Authority and its partners from government entities participating in the “Saudi Authorized Economic Operator Program” offer numerous administrative, procedural, and financial benefits across three categories. These benefits are available to importers and exporters, along with a fourth category designated for service providers and logistics solution providers, such as customs brokers, freight forwarders, and others.
The development of the Saudi Authorized Economic Operator Program in its new concept aims to contribute to enhancing the objectives of the Kingdom’s logistics sector, facilitating trade, streamlining procedures for importers and exporters, and boosting their competitiveness. This is achieved through the benefits provided under the framework of government agencies’ collaboration, with the goal of maximizing efficiency in trade facilitation, enhancing the effectiveness of supply chains, simplifying and accelerating procedures, and ensuring the seamless and highly flexible continuation of commercial operations. Additionally, it aims to facilitate access to global markets in accordance with the best international standards and practices.
Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority
The entities participating in the program, alongside the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, include the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, the Ministry of Health, the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization, the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the General Authority for Ports, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Ministry of Investment, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
