Women’s weightlifting championship held in the KSA for the first time
In a tournament held for the first time in the history of Saudi weightlifting, the “Women’s Center Steel” team took first place in a weightlifting championship for women’s training centres and gyms.
The championship activities were concluded at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, with 35 weightlifters representing nine centres and training halls, with the participation of Fawzia Hobani, a member of the Saudi Weightlifting Federation Board of Directors.
Fawzia Hawbani praised the excellent levels presented by the female weightlifters participating in the championship and heralds a distinguished base and a bright future for women’s weightlifting.
Houbani added: “My happiness seeing the heroines who stood on the stage of the championship with full force is indescribable. They presented a wonderful image of Saudi women with the will and determination that does not stop.
Women’s weightlifting will have a permanent presence on the podiums thanks to King Salman’s care and encouragement, as well as the Minister of Sports’ unwavering support for women’s sport.
