Univ. of Bisha Launches Initiative to Plant 2,000 Trees

Yesterday, the University of Bisha launched the “Green University of Bisha” initiative. The initiative includes planting more than 2,000 trees, in order to achieve the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative and the Green Middle East Initiative.

University of Bisha Initiative’s Aims

The university explained that the initiative aims to support the state’s efforts  in achieving the relevant national goals, and increasing the university’s green spaces at the main headquarters and its colleges in the governorates, in partnership with the municipality of Bisha Governorate and implemented by all sectors of the university.
The initiative included implementing a symposium on Vegetation between Present and Aspirations in Light of Vision 2030. The participants  addressed the environmental challenges facing the world, and the wise leadership’s awareness  of these challenges and setting ambitious targets for them in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Planting Trees in KSA

 

The Deputy Minister for Environment Affairs in Saudi Arabia discussed ambitious environmental goals in an interview with “Al Arabiya Business.” For example, the Kingdom aims to plant 600 million trees by 2030, a significant increase from the current 40 million.

The Saudi government has set a target to plant 12 million trees across the nation. This ambitious initiative aims to enhance the beauty of public spaces, improve air quality, and create a more sustainable environment for future generations.

The ambitious project to plant 12 million trees in Saudi Arabia’s parks will encompass both existing and new public spaces. The government plans to distribute the trees strategically across the country, ensuring every region benefits from this green revolution. The project will involve collaboration between various government agencies, local communities, and environmental organizations.

The Saudi government has taken proactive measures to support the planting of 12 million trees in parks. It has allocated funds to finance the project, established nurseries to grow a diverse range of tree species. Moreover, it implemented policies to ensure the long-term sustainability of the green spaces.
