Umm Al-‘Asafir Launches Stargazing Event with Stunning Astronomical Adventures
The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority has launched a 10-day stargazing event in Northern Borders region, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
As part of the Winter at Darb Zubaidah season, the event will take place from 5:00 pm to 12:00 at Umm al-‘Asafir valley, 50 kilometers south of Rafha Governorate.
The stargazing experience provides astronomy and nature enthusiasts with extraordinary opportunities to enjoy stunning scenes under the dark sky.
Through advanced astronomical telescopes, visitors will have an exclusive adventure to observe stars and galaxies in an ideal atmosphere away from light pollution.
The initiative will also offer educational and scientific information about stars and their significance in specifying destinations and seasons.
Furthermore, the event will showcase ancient astronomical stories, the old and modern names of stars and constellations, as well as the mechanism of observing planets.
Visitors will have a valuable opportunity to know more about determining the beginning of lunar months and astronomical phenomena such as planetary alignments and astronomical conjunctions.
