UAE Was “Active Partner” in US-Israeli War: Iranian FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday accused the United Arab Emirates of being actively involved in the ongoing US-Israeli war against Iran, according to Arab News.

Speaking during the BRICS summit in India, Araghchi said that “the UAE is an active partner in this aggression, and there is no doubt about it.”

He further noted that it has become evident that the UAE played a role in the attacks and may have even been directly involved in actions against Tehran.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, targeting its leadership and triggering a new conflict in the Middle East.

Iran has been responding with a retaliatory counterattack in Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi as a retaliatory move, while launching barrages of missiles and drones toward Israel.

The conflict has spread across the Middle East, leaving thousands dead, triggering unprecedented disruptions to energy supplies especially after the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

During the BRICS summit, Araghchi also mentioned to what Israel described as a “secret” meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the UAE.

However, Abu Dhabi has firmly denied the meeting and confirmed that such a visit had not taken place.

“When the attacks started, they didn’t even issue a condemnation,” Araghchi said in response to comments by the Emirati representative.
