UAE, Egypt starts joint military exercise ‘Zayed 3’
The joint military exercise titled Zayed 3 is being held in the UAE with the participation of Emirati and Egyptian ground forces units and will continue until 30 May.
The drill comes within the framework of the scheduled military programs between the two countries. It aims to exchange military and combat expertise and enhance the operational readiness of the UAE and Egyptian armed forces.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) said that the UAE and Egypt are linked by solid strategic relations extending over decades.
“Cooperation between the two countries is based on a legacy of accumulated military experience, solid bases, and a wise and strong political will,” WAN added.
The exercise comes under exceptional circumstances imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, according to the WAM, the UAE Armed Forces were able to organise it following the best global practices and health standards.
