Transport Ministry implements major projects in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics continues to work on many projects in the Eastern Region, in addition to maintenance operations on previously constructed roads. The total lengths of roads in the Eastern Region are 8,416 km, of which 7,428 km are existing roads under maintenance, and 998 km are roads under construction. The number of bridges is about 400 bridges.

Among the most important roads in the Eastern Province is the Abu Hadriyah Road, which has a total length of 328 km, the Jubail Road, which is 77 km long, the Dammam Ring Road with a length of 12.4 km, and the Al-Ahsa Ring Road, which is the longest ring road in the Kingdom with a length of 102 km.

The ministry is currently working on the implementation of the regional road linking Jubail Industrial City and Al-Batha port, with a total length of about 284 km. Abqaiq / Hofuf, up to Dhahran / Al Uqair / Salwa Al Batha Road.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Transport and Logistics seeks to improve the quality of roads and reach the sixth rank globally in the road quality index by 2030, while maintaining the Kingdom’s leadership in the interconnectedness of the road network, to improve services, improve the quality of roads, and achieve the objectives of the national strategy for transport and logistics, which is one of the most important axes of the Kingdom’s vision 2030.
