The French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ludovic Pouille took to X, formly Twitter, to express his happiness for meeting “ three-Michelin-starred French chef Sébastien Lepinoy” during his first visit to the Kingdom.

He highlighted that gastronomy is one of the things that brings the Saudis and the French together. Thus, it is one of the pillars of partnership between the two countries.

Who is chef Sébastien Lepinoy?

The renowned veteran chef has a long history loaded with awards, establishing him as one of the icons in this field.

He is the executive chef at Les Amis, a prestigious restaurant in Singapore.

Being meticulous and professional inside the kitchen, Lepinoy’s professionalism extends outside the walls of his kitchen.

To the French chef, serving an unmatched dish starts from picking the ingredients. Thus, he ensures buying high-quality ingredients and sources for goods that are consistently good and fresh, as “consistency is of paramount importance”.

Classical French technique coupled with modern aesthetics create all the magic in his dishes.

Working at different restaurants, he earned various Michelin stars.

Back in 2009, he was the head chef at Cepage in Hong Kong when the restaurant won one Michelin star.

In 2016, Les Amis became one of six restaurants to be rated two Michelin stars. Later in 2019, it was promoted to three Michelin stars.
