Ten Athletes to Represent Saudi Arabia In Paris Olympics 2024

The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee announced that ten athletes will represent Saudi Arabia in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, Paris 2024.

The highly anticipated Paris Olympics will take place from July 26th to August 11th.

Saudi Arabia will be competing in equestrian show jumping, taekwondo, athletics, and swimming.

Historic Delegation

This historic delegation from Saudi Arabia includes the country’s first female athlete to directly qualify for the Olympics.

Dunia Abu Talib, a member of the Saudi Taekwondo team, secured her spot through the Asian qualifiers held in March in the Chinese city of Taoyuan.

Meanwhile, in equestrian show jumping, the Saudi team boasts talented riders Ramzi Al-Duhami, Abdullah Al-Sharbatly, Khaled Al-Mobty, and Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi.

They earned their qualification by topping the seventh group qualifiers at the Doha International Show Jumping Championship last year.

In athletics, 23-year-old Mohammed Tolu will make his debut in the shot put event.

He secured his qualification by setting an Asian record during the Madrid Athletics Meeting in June.

Joining him is high jumper Hussain Al-Hizam, who will also be competing in his first Olympics after achieving an impressive world ranking score of 1,252 points.

Swimming Achievments

Saudi Arabia has two participants in swimming, who received special “invitation cards” from international federations.

Additionally, Mashael Al-Ayaid, aged 17, will compete in the 200-meter freestyle race, becoming the first Saudi woman in the history of Saudi swimming to participate in the Olympic Games.

Moreover, her teammate, 16-year-old Zaid Al-Saraj, will make his first appearance in his sports career by competing in the 100-meter freestyle race.

Athletes ready to showcase skills

According to the Saudi Olympic Committee’s website, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) granted Hiba Mohammad Malm an “invitation card” to participate in the women’s 100-meter race, marking her debut in the Olympics.

Worth mentioning, the Saudi athletes are ready to showcase their skills and make their mark on the world stage at the Paris Olympics 2024.
