SPA, KUNA Sign MoU on Media Cooperation
The President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Fahd bin Hassan Al-Aqran and the Chairman of the Board and Director General of the Kuwait News Agency(KUNA) Fatima Saud Al-Salem held the first executive meeting in Kuwait today regarding the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on media cooperation between the two agencies. The MoU on media cooperation was signed earlier in the day, in the presence of the Ministers of Information from both countries, reported Al-Jazirah Online.
Both sides agreed to form a working team to implement the partnership through joint and continuous media projects, in addition to news exchange between the two agencies. They aim to benefit from the content of reports, images, and videos produced by each party. This includes partnership in media coverage to highlight the most important events in both countries, including the Hajj season.
Media Training Program
The meeting also discussed the implementation of a joint media training program in several areas, including dealing with misleading news, artificial intelligence.
Saudi-Kuwaiti Relations
In a significant development on the international diplomatic front, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Abdullah Al-Yahya, met with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan. This high-profile meeting took place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing dialogue between the two Gulf nations.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Moreover, the meeting between Al-Yahya and Farhan underscored the strong ties between Kuwait and Saudi. Both ministers explored avenues to further enhance their countries’ bilateral relations, focusing on mutual interests and regional stability. The dialogue reflects a shared commitment to fostering a united Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and addressing common challenges.
