Jeddah Hosts First International Gifts and Products Exhibition

International products and traditional craftsmanship are taking center stage in Jeddah as the Red Sea city hosts its first International Gifts and Products Exhibition at the Jeddah Exhibition and Events Center.

Global Products Take Center Stage

The exhibition has attracted considerable attention from visitors and shoppers with manufacturers and suppliers from several countries presenting a vast array of goods, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Supported by the Jeddah Chamber, the event seeks to broaden commercial activity and encourage investment across the retail sector.

Running until early November, the exhibition serves as a valuable platform to discover products from different markets while introducing local consumers to a broader range of international goods and craftsmanship.

Each international pavilion offers visitors an exceptional array of products, reflecting the distinctive traditions and specialties of its country.

Egyptian cotton goods, abayas, and accessories sit alongside Syrian textiles, foods, and sweets, while Turkish carpets and crafts introduce traditional artistry.

Meanwhile, Iranian exhibitors are showcasing carpets and saffron, and Indian and Pakistani participants are bringing a variety of spices to the exhibition.

The displays continue with incense and souvenirs from African and Gulf countries, while Moroccan and Tunisian exhibitors are presenting embroidered kaftans, argan oil, natural cosmetics, colorful ceramics, copperware, traditional textiles, dates, and olive oil.

How Does the Exhibition Bring Cultures to Life?

The exhibition also gives visitors opportunities to experience the cultures behind these products. Live craft demonstrations, international food and spice tastings, heritage fashion, and traditional hospitality add an interactive element to the displays.

Vendors are further attracting shoppers with special discounts as the event approaches its close.

Alongside its cultural appeal, the exhibition offers participating businesses an exclusive opportunity to reach new customers and explore commercial opportunities, reinforcing Jeddah’s role as a key trading destination on the Red Sea.

Jeddah’s Retail Market Goes Global

Remarkably, the exhibition’s timing adds another dimension to its commercial appeal, coinciding with Jeddah’s peak shopping season as residents and visitors gear up for various social and religious occasions.

This seasonal demand creates an opportunity for participating businesses to introduce their products to a wider consumer base, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to expand their market reach.

By providing these businesses with a platform to showcase their offerings, the exhibition also supports broader economic objectives, including business development, employment opportunities, and retail growth.

Its international participation further reflects the importance of cross-border commercial and cultural connections. With exhibitors from Egypt, Syria, Turkey, Iran, India, Pakistan, Morocco, and Tunisia, the event brings together products and traditions from different regions, highlighting Jeddah’s position as a meeting point for diverse markets.

Therefore, the exhibition illustrates how international trade events can connect businesses, introduce new products, and contribute to the city’s established commercial landscape.

How Does the Exhibition Support Vision 2030?

The exhibition also reflects several priorities of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly economic diversification, private sector development, and stronger international engagement.

By bringing international suppliers and local consumers together, it contributes to the development of the retail sector while creating opportunities for businesses to expand their market presence.

Its cultural dimension also complements the Kingdom’s efforts to develop tourism and reinforce international connections, with participating countries introducing visitors to different traditions, products, and forms of craftsmanship.

The Jeddah Chamber’s support further highlights the role of business organizations in facilitating commercial partnerships and supporting private-sector activity.

Looking ahead, the inaugural exhibition could establish a foundation for future editions, potentially attracting a wider range of exhibitors and visitors.
