Today, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, KSA Foreign Minister, met with Oman Foreign Minister, Mr. Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi and affirmed the Saudi-Oman relationship in Munich.
During the meeting, they discussed the distinguished Saudi- Oman relationship and ways to develop them. In addition, they talked about opportunities for bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Saudi-Oman Relationship
Saudi Arabia and Oman have a longstanding and strong relationship that dates back centuries. In addition, both countries share a border and have historically been important trading partners.
Saudi Arabia’s economic relationship with Oman has continuously been growing stronger. In 2022, trade between KSA and Oman surged by 123 percent compared to the previous year.
In July 2023, leading institutions from both countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance trade and economic relations.
Furthermore, both countries reached an agreement to implement joint programs focusing on economy and region stability.
Challenges and Conflict
Oman and Saudi Arabia underlined the significance of constructive cooperation in addressing the challenges facing the region by all peaceful means. These means are dialogue and reaching consensus in a bid to consolidate pillars of security, stability and peace for everyone.
At the political level and the regional and international developments, the two ministers discussed a range of issues and latest developments. They underscored the importance of continuing coordination of stances on the same.
Despite these challenges, the two countries continue to work together to promote regional stability and prosperity
At the end of the meeting, both ministers asserted the depth of advanced, fraternal ties binding Oman and Saudi Arabia. Their strong ties are likely to endure for years to come.
