Secretary General of MWL meets the Archbishop of Vienna in Riyadh

The Secretary-General of MWL (Muslim World League) and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, received at the League’s sub-headquarters in Riyadh, Cardinal Christoph Schönbrunn, Archbishop of Vienna.

 

Cardinal Christoph and his accompanying delegation arrived in Riyadh, at the invitation of the Muslim World League.

 

This visit – which was announced by the Vatican – is of great importance.

 

Schönbrunn is one of the most prominent active religious leaders in promoting friendship and cooperation between civilizations.

 

Dr. Al-Issa welcomed his Eminence, and then the two sides discussed a number of issues of common concern.

 

The two sides discussed efforts to build bridges between nations and peoples.

 

They highlighted the importance of effective cooperation and between religious leaders in confronting the ideas and calls for the civilizational clash.

 

The meeting discussed the Mecca Document and its prominent global impact on relations between religions and cultures,

they mentioned also its active role in addressing the most prominent international crises.

 

The Cardinal of Vienna praised the document’s achievements at the global level, especially its positive messages for future generations.

 

Cardinal Schönbrunn expressed his great interest in the work of the League and its international initiatives.

He stressed his aspiration for future work together with the Muslim World League.
