We thank Saudi Arabia for supporting peace in Ukraine: Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Saudi Arabia on Sunday for supporting peace and sovereignty in Ukraine.
This came during the Ukrainian President’s reception of the Saudi Foreign Minister, HRH Prince Faisal bin Farhan, at the presidential residence in the capital, Kyiv.
The Saudi Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz.
‘Peace efforts’
During the reception, they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and opportunities for their development, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues and developments of common concern.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan reaffirmed the Kingdom’s keenness and support for all international efforts aimed at resolving the (Ukrainian-Russian) crisis politically, and the continuation of its efforts to contribute to mitigating the resulting humanitarian effects.
Ukraine Crisis
Prince Faisal bin Farhan also met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, and during the meeting, developments in the crisis in Ukraine were discussed.
There was an emphasis on the fact that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supports everything that contributes to de-escalation, protection of civilians, serious pursuit of negotiated political solutions, and support for all international efforts aimed at resolving the crisis politically.
The two sides also discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways to support and develop it in many fields, in addition to discussing developments in the regional and international arenas.
