Saudis foils new Iranian cyber attack
Yahoo News website said that Saudi Arabia seized a new cyber-attack suspected of coming from Iran on December 29, that is, on the same day that the US military hit targets controlled by Iranian-backed agents in response to a missile attack that killed an American contractor on Friday previous to that date.
According to a Saudi technical report obtained by Yahoo News, officials in Riyadh – who called this malware (Dustman) – did not attribute the sabotage attack directly to Iran. However, according to experts who reviewed the technical report, analyzed the motives and possible similarities to previous attacks, Iran is the most likely suspect behind that attack.
The “erase data” attack – identified by the Saudi National Authority for Cyber Security – used malware to scan digital data belonging to unknown targets in the Middle East
