Working Women in Saudi Tourism Sector Exceeded 45%

Saudi Vice Minister of Tourism,  Haifa bint Mohammed bin Khalid, revealed that the tourism sector is occupied by 45% of working women. She praised their tireless work in the tourism sector to empower human capital.

During her participation in the dialogue session “Creating a future-proof workforce in the tourism industry”, she highlighted that Saudi has to work to build capabilities and skills for the need now and in the future.

Princess Haifa confirmed that the tourism sector in the Kingdom is currently working on obstetric tourism in particular, in addition to paying attention to sustainability.

She also stressed that 33% of global jobs will shift to technical jobs. Furthermore, technology in tourism sector will play an important role and contribute in one way or another to entering new spaces and working to adapt technology.

In addition, she pointed out that the importance of investing in technology and adapting it in everything serves the tourism sector.

Speakers during the session stressed that every city in the world is looking forward to developing its tourism sector. They also discussed how it can intervene and develop its tools to attract wide segments of tourists.

Saudi  has been undergoing significant social and economic transformations in recent years. One of the most notable changes has been the increasing participation of women in the workforce.

Saudi women have faced numerous challenges when it comes to pursuing a career outside the home. However, with the Vision 2030 reform agenda, there has been a concerted effort to empower women and provide them with more opportunities.

Although the Gulf state made progress through years, there are still challenges that need to be addressed in order to fully realize the potential of Saudi women in the workforce.
