The Saudi national weightlifting team is finalizing preparations for the upcoming Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship, scheduled to take place in Astana, Kazakhstan, from July 4 to 10. The event will gather more than 200 athletes from 23 countries.
Mohammed Al-Harbi, President of the Saudi Weightlifting Federation and Secretary-General of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, highlighted the high level of competition expected at this year’s championship. He noted that this edition will be the first to feature newly introduced weight categories and record standards. Al-Harbi expressed confidence in the Saudi lifters, describing them as exceptional athletes poised to deliver a commendable performance on the international stage.
