CEO of the Quality of Life Program Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Bakr has emphasized that the program places human well-being at its center during WUF12, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
This human-centered approach aligns with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop the urban landscape, promote the quality of city services, and boost innovation through the deployment of modern technologies.
The CEO’s remarks were part of a dialogue session called “Putting People First in a Digital Era,” at the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12).
Organized by the UN, the forum highlighted the participation of experts and specialists from all over the world.
In the same context, Al-Bakr stressed that the program significantly leverages from Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation to fulfill the aspirations of Saudis and satisfy their needs.
Therefore, the initiative concentrates on six main sectors: urban design, culture and heritage, sports, tourism, entertainment, and security.
Al-Bakr also noted that digital transformation has become an integral part in improving people’s quality of life through the data-based tools that support sustainable urban planning.
Consequently, these cutting-edge technologies will empower decision makers to meet Saudis’ growing needs and accelerate the launch of smart and sustainable cities.
