

HRH the Saudi Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, stressed the need to enhance international dialogue by discussing the most significant developments and challenges related to culture.
He pointed out the importance of strengthening relations between the G20 countries to protect the common cultural heritage by finding common solutions, benefiting from international experiences, and exchanging experiences.
He explained that the Kingdom participated in the meeting of culture ministers held last September in Indonesia, which adopted the slogan “We recover together, we recover stronger” to enhance the continuity of discussing culture in the development context within the framework of the Group of 20.
This is based on the kingdom’s initiative that it put forward during her presidency of the summit in 2020 in Riyadh, under the slogan “The Rise of the Cultural Economy: A New Paradigm”. The initiative later won the support of the Executive Council of (UNESCO) for its continued convening within the framework of the annual summit. This was done during the Italian presidency of the group in the previous year, and then the Indonesian presidency in the current year.
He indicated that the meeting of culture ministers of the G20 countries aims to reach an international consensus to structure a new sustainable reality based on cultural resources. This is to develop a global recovery plan through the establishment of a joint work network.
The Kingdom has supported the promotion of global cooperation in various types and tools of culture, such as creative industries and cultural tourism. These types of cultures play an imperative role in achieving the goals of sustainable development.
