Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have offered their sincere condolences to the King of Thailand over the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Bangkok a day earlier, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The Saudi leadership also expressed their “deepest condolences and sincere sympathy” to the victims’ families. Meanwhile, they wished the “safe return of the missing and speedy recovery for the injured.”
On Friday, a massive earthquake struck Myanmar, causing extensive damage and killing more than 140 people. Officials said that the number was likely to grow in the days ahead.
As for Thailand, at least six people lost their lives in Bangkok, where a high-rise under construction collapsed.
Currently, the death toll, numbers of injured people, and extent of destruction are not immediately clear.
Officials warned that the toll could go much higher.
“The death toll and injuries are expected to rise,” the Head of Myanmar’s Military Government, Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing, said.
