Saudi Interior Minister to approve security and emergency plan for the Hajj
The comprehensive security plan for the tasks and responsibilities of public security to establish the Hajj rituals this year 1443 AH was authorized by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee.
His Excellency the Director of Public Security, Lieutenant-General Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Bassami, stressed that it is following the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, to provide everything necessary to ensure the security and safety of pilgrims.
His Excellency emphasized that the plan took into account security, organizational, traffic, and humanitarian considerations to meet the leadership’s goals of utilizing all resources to allow pilgrims to perform their rites and devotion in safety, security, comfort, and quiet.
The basic emergency plan for this year’s Hajj, which is being executed by several government departments, was also authorized by His Highness the Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee.
Lieutenant-General Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Amro, Director General of Civil Defense, stated that the continuous development of general emergency plans for Hajj is following the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense to provide everything that would be required.
Lieutenant-General Al-Amr stated that the plan covered all required civil defense measures to be done in the event of a potential threat in the area (the Holy Capital – the Holy Sites – Madinah).
