The visit comes in the wake of Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah’s assumption of the Crown Prince. In the same vein, the Saudi King, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, had earlier congratulated him on the occasion of his appointment as Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled took the constitutional oath before the Emir of Kuwait upon his appointment as Crown Prince. He rose through the ranks of the diplomatic corps and served as ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait’s delegate to the Organization of the Islamic Conference until 1998.

In 1998, he was appointed head of the National Security Service with the rank of minister. About 8 years later, he became Minister of Social Affairs and Labor in 2006, and then Minister of Information in 2008.

Sheikh Sabah was born in Kuwait in 1953. In 1977, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science from Kuwait University. He began his career when he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1978 and remained there until 1995.
