The Saudi Food and Drug Authority has prepared a comprehensive plan to ensure the safety and quality of pilgrims’ food, medicines and medical products during the Hajj season. This is part of the Saudi government’s efforts to harness all capabilities and provide the best services to the pilgrims.
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority is operating in the pilgrims’ air, land, and sea points of entry to control and inspect the products subject to its supervision.
The Authority’s work also includes providing awareness programs and messages in several languages about the safety of food, medicines and medical devices, preparing relevant field studies. The authority also organizes workshops for workers in qualified kitchens in the field of food preparation to ensure their commitment to meeting all health requirements and ensuring the provision of safe meals.
This stems from the Kingdom’s great attention to serve the pilgrims. The authority began its preparations early to provide the best services and practices to monitor the products subject to its supervision and participate in joint committees with government agencies.
