UN Ministerial Meeting
The Saudi Foreign Minister, speaking at the UN ministerial meeting on the Palestinian issue, announced the launch of the “International Coalition for Implementing the Two-State Solution” on behalf of Arab, Islamic, and European partners.
He invited others to join the initiative, emphasizing a commitment to creating a credible and irreversible path toward just and comprehensive peace. He also expressed hope for contributions to end the conflict and maintain international peace and security, as reported by SPA.
The Saudi Foreign Minister affirmed that establishing an independent Palestinian state is an inherent right and essential for peace. He also expressed appreciation for the countries that have recently recognized Palestine and urged all nations to show courage, join the international consensus, and follow the example of the 149 countries that recognize Palestine.
He added: ‘We wonder what remains of the credibility and legitimacy of the global system when we find ourselves powerless to stop the war machine?,’ according to the Saudi agency.
Moreover, the Saudi Foreign Minister continued, saying: ‘Self-defense cannot justify the killing of tens of thousands of civilians and the practice of systematic destruction and forced displacement.’
Bin Farhan clarified that “the war on Gaza has caused a humanitarian disaster and serious violations being carried out by Israeli forces in the West Bank, in addition to the threat to Al-Aqsa Mosque,” according to SPA.
